Random Ham Encounters

On a call today with an IT counterpart at a Client's offices in Iowa. We were solving an issue for our end users when he asked for my email address. I spelled it out phonetically for him so he got it right. Once he had it copied correctly he asked me "are you a Ham?"

Indeed I met N9BOW of Iowa while on a concall today at work! You never know who might just be a ham!

Howdy Don!

Well sir, as it is all too often the case, when I spell things out phonetically, the receiving party will usually inquire which branch of the military service I was associated with. And yes, I will also concur with your observation that you never know who might just be a H.A.M.! Have a good day or evening.

Best Regards,

Bob Rojas - (KM6UFY).

I have worked in several large and small companies and have never met another operator......including the time I spent in the Navy as a radioman. Don...you've been hit by lightening! Did this discovery have any effect on your joint problem solving effort ?
