Bitch Session - (Well Sort of Anyway).

Howdy troops!

Now, I do not know how relevant or appropriate this topical suggestion might be, since time immemorial, I have heard nothing but disparaging commentary about the M.F.J. company, its service department and the quality of its product line. The sheer volume of bitching and moaning that I hear about M.F.J. spans the broad spectrum of both VHF and UHF frequencies. I occasionally hear bitching and moaning about Ham Radio Outlet. I rarely hear ANY bitching and moaning about D.X. Engineering. Are my observations essentially correct OR am I falling victim to so much urban myth and legend? Any constructive input would be quite appreciated. Thank you.

Best Regards,

Hi Bob !

I 'd say you got it exactly right. I have just finished with a long drawn out process with MFJ trying to get a few spare parts. It took 2 1/2 months. The people I delt with were all very friendly....but not much ever seemed to happen without me calling over and over. And, the quality of a lot of their stuff isn't the best even for the price.

Ive had a few dealings with HRO. One good and one where they held my money for a month and a half while an item I bought was on back order......that wasn't too good.

RX Engineering has a good reputation with people I know but I have never dealt with them. They do have pretty good prices on radios etc.

So...I think you had a pretty good picture of the situation.

It's great to see new Crew members out here. Let me know if you have any ideas for the forum, website or Crew 2m DX events etc.....also stop by 145.33 (K6POU) if you are close enough to get in. That's the crew's main repeater.

Cheers Bob !

Rod
